Ash Vessel, Firing 07

A tall, narrow vessel built slowly from local clay. The unglazed surface records the path of flame across the kiln and the exact place the piece occupied during firing.

Wood-fired for 54 hours. Pale ash gathered on the shoulder while the lower body flashed from ochre to deep umber.
